Practical information

Here at the Farm Centre we enjoy educating children on all aspects of farming and the ways of the countryside. We are keen to host the children's visits and enjoy the interaction we have with them. Visits can be tailored to specific requirements and different age groups.

Having made a provisional booking, we will send a Health & Safety Fact sheet and confirmation of booking form. The form should be completed and returned as soon as possible with a deposit of £50.

Preliminary visit

For all Teachers wishing to bring groups to the Farm we will be happy to arrange a preliminary visit, if required, to discuss any special arrangements and view facilities. Alternatively, we can discuss arrangements by 'phone.

Parking

There is amply free p for cars or coaches. All coaches and cars should park in the Car Park in front of the Farm Centre Building.

Toilets

Toilets are easily accessible next to the Play Area & Cafe in front of the main building (Disabled facilities are also available).

Food

Our Cafe is always open for hot or cold drinks, snacks and full meals. We can provide scarecrow picnic boxes for the children with drinks, nutritious food and a sensible present to take home or we can also cook the children a delicious hot meal and pudding (either option cost £3.25 per child [minimum 20 children] and must be pre-booked). We have plenty of eating areas inside and out for groups. There are two outside safe picnic areas and inside we have two rooms that can be used for Groups to eat indoors.

Shop

We have a small gift area in the cafe stocked with pocket money items and gifts. We also sell homemade jams, chutney and honey with fruits grown on the farm or bees housed here.

Wet weather arrangements

We have the large indoor soft play area, sand area and ride on toys to keep the children happy and entertained when the weather is bad. We can also arrange activity sheets, colouring activities and other arts to keep young ones occupied if the weather in inclement. We can also bring indoors some of the small animals for Groups to see and feel. Children should bring waterproof coats and wellies during wet spells or and on hot days, sunhats and sun cream.
